What is P90X?
Tony Horton created P90X in order to address some fundamental deficiencies that he thought was problematic in current workouts of his time. He realized that most people were liable to hit plateau’s when they began to train due to the fact that the human body will adapt to any new routine given time. Thus even the most taxing of workouts will eventually become ‘normal’ to our body, and our once fast growth tapers off and then stops.
To prevent this, Tony Horton created the ‘Muscle Confusion’ technique, where your body is challenged by a variety of different kinds of exercises, ranging from yoga to kenpo karate, from resistance training to cardio and plyometrics, and to then have the order in which these exercises are performed varied so that your body never ‘knows’ what to expect. This results in a plateau breaking gains as your body never acclimatizes to your routine.
Who Is P90X For?
